Locking LP tokens from a Hood Launcher Classic launch.
Hood Launcher offers two launch shapes on Robinhood Chain, and the difference between them decides whether you have anything to lock at all.
- Seeded (free) launch. No liquidity ETH from you. 1B supply is seeded into SushiSwap at roughly a 1.35 ETH starting market cap, the LP is locked permanently, and trading opens at block one.
- Classic launch. You supply the liquidity ETH, and the LP tokens go to your own wallet, where they are withdrawable at any time. Optional 0–5% tax.
There are no launch fees on either — gas only, and creators keep 100% of every trade's fee.
Classic is the case liquidity locking was built for
Most of this chain's launchpads lock or burn liquidity for you, which makes "lock your LP" advice irrelevant on them. Hood Launcher's Classic launch is the exception. You hold the LP tokens. You can pull the liquidity in one transaction. Every buyer knows it, and there is nothing on-chain distinguishing you from someone who intends to.
That is not an accusation — supplying your own liquidity is the more committed choice, and Classic exists because some teams want control over the pool. But holding withdrawable LP is the single strongest reason a buyer walks away from a young token, and it is the one thing you can settle outright.
Lock the LP token itself
SushiSwap's v2-style pools issue an ERC-20 LP token, and an ERC-20 is exactly what HoodLock's locker holds. So you lock the LP token the same way you would lock any other balance: pick it, pick an amount, pick a date. The proof page then shows the pool's liquidity is committed until that date, to anyone, without a wallet.
Unlock dates can be pushed further out but never pulled earlier, so a short first lock that you extend as you ship builds a record that a single long lock doesn't. How long to pick goes through the trade-off.
Seeded launches: lock something else
If you took the free seeded route, the LP is already locked permanently and there is nothing to add. What's left is fee revenue. You keep 100% of every trade's fee, and that accumulates in an ordinary wallet, plus anything you bought. Both are ERC-20 balances and both are lockable.
Doing it
- Copy the contract address from your token's page on Hood Launcher.
- Open HoodLock with the wallet holding the LP tokens.
- Pick the token, the amount and a date. For vesting, add the beneficiary and an optional cliff.
- Approve, confirm, and share the proof link.
Flat 0.005 ETH either way, no percentage of the tokens, and a proof page that reads live from the chain and opens without a wallet.
One thing to confirm first
Check which pool your token actually landed in before locking. A v2-style pool gives you an ERC-20 LP token that HoodLock can hold; a Uniswap v3 position is an NFT and cannot be locked with it. How to tell which you have.
Common questions
Does Hood Launcher lock liquidity?
It depends on the launch type. A seeded (free) launch has its LP locked permanently by the platform. A Classic launch, where the creator supplies the liquidity ETH, sends the LP tokens to the creator's own wallet, where they are withdrawable at any time.
Can I lock Hood Launcher LP tokens with HoodLock?
Yes, if the pool is v2-style and issues an ERC-20 LP token — that is what HoodLock's locker holds. Confirm which pool your token landed in first, since a Uniswap v3 position is an NFT rather than an ERC-20 and cannot be locked.
What does a Hood Launcher launch cost?
There are no launch fees on either launch type, only gas. Creators keep 100% of every trade's fee, and a seeded launch requires no liquidity ETH from the creator.
