How to buy meme coins on Robinhood Chain, safely.
Buying a meme coin on Robinhood Chain (chain id 4663) takes about ten minutes: a wallet, some ETH on the chain, and a swap. The part that decides whether you keep your money takes another five, and most guides skip it. They tell you to "check whether liquidity is locked" and stop there. This one shows you how.
The short version. Set up an EVM wallet, add Robinhood Chain, bridge ETH over with a bridge listed in the official bridging docs, copy the token's contract address from its launchpad or pool, and run the five checks in the before you buy box. Only then swap, starting small.
What Robinhood Chain is, in one paragraph
Robinhood Chain is Robinhood's Ethereum Layer 2, built on Arbitrum technology (Robinhood's docs describe it as built on Arbitrum Dedicated Blockchains). Mainnet went live on July 1, 2026. It is permissionless, so anyone can deploy a token, and gas is paid in ETH, not in a separate chain token. That last point matters: you need a little ETH on the chain before you can buy anything, and a little more to sell later.
Step 1: Get a wallet that can sign on chain 4663
Robinhood's own wallet guide names Robinhood Wallet and EVM wallets such as MetaMask. Rabby and Trust Wallet work the same way, since Robinhood Chain is a standard EVM network. If your wallet does not list the chain yet, add it by hand:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Network name | Robinhood Chain |
| Chain ID | 4663 |
| Currency symbol | ETH |
| RPC URL | https://rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com |
| Block explorer | https://robinhoodchain.blockscout.com |
These values come from Robinhood's connection docs. Note that the public RPC is rate-limited, so a wallet that occasionally says "request failed" is usually hitting that limit, not losing your funds.
A note on Phantom. Phantom announced Robinhood Chain support in July 2026 and can show balances on it. In HoodLock's own testing, Phantom could not sign transactions on chain 4663, which is why our app does not offer it (details). Support may change, so if Phantom is your wallet, send yourself a tiny transaction on Robinhood Chain first and confirm it actually signs before you rely on it for a trade you need to exit quickly.
Step 2: Get ETH onto Robinhood Chain
Robinhood's bridging page lists the canonical bridge and five partner options. Use the links from that page rather than from search ads or chat messages: fake bridge sites are one of the oldest ways to lose a wallet.
| Bridge | Type | Speed (per Robinhood's docs) |
|---|---|---|
| Arbitrum canonical bridge | Trustless Ethereum to L2 | Deposit about 10 min, withdrawal about 7 days |
| Relay | Intents-based | Seconds |
| Across | Intents-based | Seconds |
| LayerZero / Stargate | Omnichain tokens (OFT) | Minutes |
| Chainlink CCIP / Transporter | Messaging plus token transfer | Minutes |
| LI.FI / 0x | Swap-and-bridge aggregators | Seconds to minutes |
For a first purchase, the fast intent bridges are the practical choice: you send ETH from another chain and receive ETH on Robinhood Chain moments later. The canonical bridge is the most trust-minimised, but withdrawals back to Ethereum take about a week and need a final claim transaction on Ethereum. Bridge a little more ETH than you plan to spend, so you can still pay gas to sell.
Step 3: Know where the token trades
Meme coins on Robinhood Chain trade in two very different places, and the safety checks differ between them.
Uniswap pools
Uniswap v2, v3 and v4 are all deployed on the chain, and by DefiLlama's data Uniswap v4 and v3 were the two largest DEXs on Robinhood Chain by 24-hour volume as of October 10, 2026. A token that trades in a Uniswap pool has liquidity someone deposited, and the question is whether that someone can take it back out. Our comparison of the best DEXs on Robinhood Chain covers the rest of the field, including the aggregators that route across pools.
Launchpads and bonding curves
Most new meme coins start on a launchpad. Two you will meet often:
- Pons launches tokens on a bonding curve. When a token graduates, its launch liquidity moves into a Uniswap v4 pool, and that launch position is held by a Pons contract with no withdrawal function. Is Pons liquidity locked? walks through verifying it.
- pools.trade, built by Uniswap Labs and launched on August 5, 2026, offers an Instant Launch on a bonding curve and a four-hour Crowd Launch. Uniswap Labs describes the liquidity as permanently locked in a protocol-held pool that the creator cannot remove.
Bonding curve versus pool. On a bonding curve, a formula sets the price and the curve itself holds the money buyers paid in. There is no LP position for the creator to pull, so the classic rug pull is off the table, but the creator's own bag is not. After graduation, the token trades in an ordinary pool, and from then on any liquidity added outside the launch position belongs to whoever added it.
Step 4: Get the exact contract address
Tickers are not unique. Anyone can deploy a second token with the same name and logo for a few cents of gas. Copy the contract address from the token's launchpad page, its pool on the DEX you will use, or the project's own site, and paste that address into the swap. Never buy by searching a ticker inside a DEX and picking the first result.
Before you buy: five checks
Each takes under a minute and none needs a wallet. The full version, with the less common traps, is our guide to checking a Robinhood Chain token before you buy.
- Is the liquidity locked or burned? Paste the token address into the liquidity lock checker for Uniswap v3 and v4 positions, and see the next section for checking any pool yourself.
- When does it unlock? A lock that ends next week is a countdown, not a commitment. The token lock checker shows every HoodLock lock on a token with its date.
- Who holds the supply? Open the holder list on Blockscout. A few unlocked wallets holding a large share can sell into you at any time. How to read holder distribution explains which addresses to discount.
- What can the contract owner do? Look for an owner that can mint, change taxes, pause trading or blacklist wallets. How to verify a token contract on Blockscout shows where to look.
- Can you sell? Buy a small amount, then sell part of it straight away. If the sell fails or loses far more than the quoted fee, stop. That is the signature of a honeypot token.
How to check if the liquidity is locked, step by step
"Liquidity locked" is the claim every token makes. Here is how to confirm it yourself. Start from the token's contract address and find its pool on the DEX or on Blockscout, then follow the row for the pool type.
| Pool type | Where to look | Locked or burned looks like | Not locked looks like |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uniswap v2 pair | The pair's Holders tab on Blockscout (the LP token is the pair contract itself) | Most LP tokens held by a locker contract with verified source, or by the dead address 0x…dEaD | Most LP tokens in an ordinary wallet |
| Uniswap v3 or v4 position | The owner of the position NFT on the Uniswap position manager | Owned by a locker contract, such as HoodLock's Liquidity Locker, or by a launchpad's lock contract | Owned by the creator's wallet |
| Bonding curve | The launchpad's token page | Nothing to pull while it is on the curve; check what happens at graduation | Not applicable until graduation |
Then read three numbers off what you found:
- Share. What part of the pool is locked. A pool with 90% locked and 10% loose can still lose that 10%, and a big loose position can drain most of the depth.
- Date. When the lock ends. The lock checker and every HoodLock proof page show it. On HoodLock, dates can be extended but never shortened.
- Locker. Whether the contract holding it has verified source and no admin path to the funds. A "lock" in a contract the deployer can empty is not a lock.
For the full walk-through, read how to check if liquidity is locked. To check a burn instead, see how to check if liquidity is burned.
Step 5: Make the swap
- Open the DEX or launchpad, connect your wallet and confirm the network shows Robinhood Chain.
- Paste the contract address into the token field and confirm the name, symbol and address match what you checked.
- Keep slippage as low as the trade allows. A token that only fills at very high slippage is either very thin or taxed on buys, and both are worth knowing before you click.
- Confirm the swap and open the transaction on Blockscout to check what you actually received.
Selling is the same flow in reverse. Tokens sold through Uniswap usually need an approval transaction first, so keep enough ETH for two transactions.
If you are the one launching
Everything above is what your buyers will check. If you hold LP tokens or a v3 or v4 position, locking it is how you answer the first question before anyone asks. How to lock liquidity on Robinhood Chain covers it, and current prices are on the fees page.
Common questions
Is it safe to buy meme coins on Robinhood Chain?
No meme coin is safe in the sense of keeping its value, and most go to zero. What you can control is avoiding the outright scams: check that liquidity is locked or burned, when the lock ends, who holds the supply, what the contract owner can do, and that you can sell, before you put in more than a test amount.
Which wallet should I use for Robinhood Chain?
Robinhood's docs name Robinhood Wallet and EVM wallets such as MetaMask. Rabby and Trust Wallet also work. Add chain ID 4663 with the RPC https://rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com if your wallet does not list the network.
Can I use Phantom on Robinhood Chain?
Phantom announced Robinhood Chain support in July 2026, but in HoodLock's testing it could not sign transactions on chain 4663. Send yourself a small transaction first to confirm signing works before trading with it.
How do I get ETH onto Robinhood Chain?
Use a bridge listed on docs.robinhood.com/chain/bridging: the Arbitrum canonical bridge, Relay, Across, Stargate, Chainlink Transporter, or the LI.FI and 0x aggregators. Intent bridges such as Relay and Across arrive in seconds. Canonical withdrawals back to Ethereum take about seven days.
How do I know if a meme coin's liquidity is locked?
Find the pool. For a Uniswap v2 pair, open the pair's holders on Blockscout and see whether the LP tokens sit in a locker contract or the dead address. For a v3 or v4 position, check who owns the position NFT. HoodLock's liquidity lock checker shows this for v3 and v4 positions without a wallet.
What is a bonding curve token?
A token whose price is set by a formula while it trades on a launchpad, with the curve contract holding the money buyers paid in. There is no LP position to pull while it is on the curve. After graduation it trades in an ordinary pool, where normal liquidity checks apply.
