HoodLock / Token vesting
Token vesting · Robinhood Chain

Token vesting for Robinhood Chain teams.

Release team, investor and advisor tokens a little at a time, on a schedule nobody can change. HoodLock vesting on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663) is linear with an optional cliff, costs 0.005 ETH per schedule, and gives every schedule a public proof page holders can check without a wallet.

How HoodLock vesting works

ANSWER

A schedule holds a token for one beneficiary and has four numbers: a total, a start, an optional cliff and an end. Before the cliff nothing is claimable. From the cliff to the end the claimable amount grows in a straight line. At the end everything left is claimable, to the last unit. The beneficiary claims whenever they like with claim(id), and unclaimed tokens never expire.

The release formula

The contract computes what a beneficiary can claim at any moment with claimable(id):

WhenClaimable
Before the cliff0
From the cliff to the endtotal × (now − start) / (end − start), minus what was already claimed
At or after the endEverything not yet claimed

The last claim takes the exact remainder instead of recomputing the fraction, so a schedule always finishes at precisely its total and no dust is left behind.

What is a vesting cliff?

A cliff is a period at the beginning of a vesting schedule during which nothing can be claimed. When the cliff date arrives, everything that accrued during that period unlocks at once, and the rest keeps releasing gradually until the end date.

In numbers. Take 1,200,000 tokens vesting over 36 months with a 12-month cliff. In months 0 to 11 nothing is claimable: the tokens sit in the contract and cannot be moved. In month 12, 400,000 tokens become claimable in one step, the twelve months that built up behind the cliff. From month 13 to month 36, roughly 33,333 tokens become claimable each month until the full amount is out. The total is the same as a schedule with no cliff. What changes is when the first tokens can move.

What it protects against. Without a cliff, a founder who leaves after six weeks still walks away with six weeks of tokens. The amount is small, but it makes a short stay free. A twelve-month cliff means anyone who leaves in the first year receives nothing, which ties the people holding tokens to the people building the project. For holders it answers one question: how soon can insider supply start hitting the market?

Why twelve months is the default. The convention comes from startup equity, where a one-year cliff on a four-year vest has been standard for decades. It roughly marks the point at which you can tell whether someone is going to stay. Advisors more often get three to six months.

Reading a cliff on a proof page. A HoodLock vesting proof page shows the cliff next to the start and end dates. A cliff far from the start is a real commitment. A cliff a few days after the start is a cliff in name only. No cliff on a large team allocation means insider supply can move at once. And an end date close to the start matters as much as the cliff itself.

Vest up to 200 wallets at once

createMany creates one schedule per beneficiary in a single transaction, up to 200, all with the same token, start, cliff and end and each with its own amount. It is the practical way to set up a whole team, an investor round or a contributor list in one go. The fee is charged per schedule, and every schedule gets its own proof page.

No percentage of your tokens is taken at any point. The fee can never be raised above 0.05 ETH per schedule: that cap is written into the contract.

Rules nobody can change

No cancelling

No HoodLock function can cancel, edit or reverse a schedule. There is no revoke, no sweep and no rescue. Check the beneficiary and the amount before you sign.

Dates fixed at creation

The start, cliff and end are set when the schedule is created and cannot be shortened or extended. The end must be more than 24 hours after creation.

Only the beneficiary claims

claim(id) pays the schedule's current beneficiary and nobody else. The creator cannot pull tokens back.

Wallet changes

The beneficiary can move the schedule to a new wallet with transferBeneficiary, for a lost key or a handover. Every move is recorded on-chain as an event.

Limited admin

The admin can change the creation fee up to the 0.05 ETH cap, change the fee collector and hand over the admin role in two steps. Nothing that touches an existing schedule.

The token itself

A token that can pause, freeze or blacklist addresses can still block claims. That power sits in the token's contract, not in HoodLock's.

How investors check a schedule

Search the token

Paste the token address into the vesting checker. It lists every HoodLock schedule for that token, no wallet needed.

Open the proof page

Each schedule has a page at /proof/vesting/<id> with the total, how much has vested, how much was claimed, and the start, cliff and end dates.

Read the contract

On the explorer, getSchedule(id) returns the token, beneficiary, total, claimed amount and dates, and schedulesByToken(token) lists every schedule for a token.

Check what is claimable

claimable(id) shows what the beneficiary could take right now, straight from the contract.

Audited by SBSecurity

SBSecurity reviewed the token locker and vesting contracts in September 2026 with zero findings. See the audit reports.

What the audit covers

The September review covers the token locker and vesting contracts. It does not cover the burner, the airdrop contract or off-chain code such as the app and the API.

In use

67 vesting schedules created on HoodLock as of 2026-11-07, each with a public proof page.

Common questions

Is there token vesting on Robinhood Chain?

Yes. HoodLock vests any ERC-20 on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663) linearly with an optional cliff, for 0.005 ETH per schedule. Every schedule gets a public proof page.

Can a vesting schedule be cancelled?

No. No HoodLock function can cancel, edit or reverse a schedule, and the admin cannot touch one. The dates and amount are fixed when you create it.

What is a vesting cliff?

A period at the start of a schedule during which nothing can be claimed. On the cliff date everything that accrued so far becomes claimable at once, and the rest keeps releasing linearly until the end.

What happens exactly on the cliff date?

Everything that accrued during the cliff period becomes claimable in one step, and linear release continues from there. The total released over the whole schedule is unchanged, only the timing of the first claim differs.

How long should a cliff be?

Twelve months is the common convention for core team allocations, inherited from startup equity. Advisors more often see three to six months. What matters most is that the cliff is long enough to be a real commitment.

Can I vest tokens to many wallets at once?

Yes. createMany sets up to 200 schedules in one transaction, all with the same token and timing and each with its own amount. The fee is 0.005 ETH per schedule.

Who pays to claim vested tokens?

The beneficiary pays gas only. HoodLock charges nothing to claim, and unclaimed tokens stay claimable with no expiry.

Should I use vesting or a lock?

Vesting suits tokens going to a team, investors or advisors over time. A token lock suits an allocation you hold yourself and release on one date.

Is the vesting contract audited?

Yes. SBSecurity reviewed the token locker and vesting contracts in September 2026 and found zero issues. That review does not cover the burner, the airdrop contract or off-chain code.
